Welcome to the 2016/2017 School Year!
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Westerly Middle School!
RESPECT - RESPONSIBILITY - SAFETY
These 3 words will shape our year and promote a positive climate and culture at Westerly Middle School this year.
As your Student Intervention Strategist, I look forward to working with you and your children to ensure a successful year of learning and growth while implementing PBIS- ( Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports ). This positive behavior management system has been actively utilized at Westerly Middle School since 2012. Students are encouraged to make the right choices when it comes to being safe, responsible and respectful in all facets of our learning community. School-wide expectations are introduced and reviewed at Grade Level meetings and posters adorn our classroom walls and hallways to serve as constant reminders for these positive behaviors.
As your Student Intervention Strategist, I will support the learning and value behind these positive expectations and I am proud to be affiliated with a school system that has made the shift from Reactive to Proactive approaches with student behavior!
Welcome again and please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year!
